At our house, we're crazy for monarchs. We started raising them when my daughter was a toddler in a basic bug cage and have since upgraded to a large aquarium. This season, they are everywhere in the garden and we bring as many as we can find into our home to give them a a little extra help during their big transition.
Kate & Tony's Wedding
This weekend, we flew to Chicago for a family wedding. We were super excited to see my sister-in-law, Kate get married to her boyfriend Tony, a really sweet and funny guy who we all absolutely adore. They're one of those couples who truly bring out the best in each other, and it was great celebration of their love and their bright future ahead.
My daughter was one of the flower girls and she enjoyed every minute of it. I took some photos behind the scenes while the wedding party prepared to walk down the aisle.
Empty Bowls at Westwood Lutheran Chruch
It feels good to give back to our community and it was an honor to photograph Empty Bowls at Westwood Lutheran Church in St. Louis Park.
Since 2002, approximately 1,000 neighbors join together for a simple meal of soup and bread provided by local businesses for lunch or dinner. Sponsored by the St. Louis Park Emergency Program (STEP), the purpose of the event is to build awareness of food insecurity and participants receive a handmade pottery bowl to take home as a reminder of empty bowls in our community.
Each year, STEP serves approximately four thousand St. Louis Park residents with nutritional support, clothing, transportation, and emergency rental assistance. STEP has been empowering lives and restoring hope in the city for forty years. All free-will donations from Empty bowl went to STEP programs.
An afternoon at the Minnesota Landscape Arboretum
In March, we winter-gray Minnesotans must seek out bold, bright colors and the promise of spring. The flower show at the Minnesota Landscape Arboretum was the perfect place to take a break from the snow.
